For a special issue of Coast and Ocean on the Pacific Ocean, I was asked to provide an article on one of the biggest threats to our seas from climate change – ocean acidification. The publication focused on how California waters would be affected. Part of the challenge was finding research that was specific to California, or at least the west coast, for a global-scale problem. The article received the highest number of hits for the online issue and was used by university professors to teach about the topic. I eventually received feedback from students and questions from readers.
